Drive Medical Acquires Business of Primus Medical;

Solidifies Presence in Long-Term Care Market

Effective December 15, 2014, Drive Medical is pleased to announce the acquisition of the business of Primus Medical, LLC, a leading manufacturer of innovative long-term care beds and related products.  Located in Ohio, Primus manufactures high-quality leading-edge long-term care products, including full-function low beds, bariatric beds, lifts and chairs, therapeutic air and foam mattresses, lifts, slings and safety products.  Primus has enjoyed great success in its launch of the PrimePlus®B1750 High Capacity Bed and PrimeCare®B901 High/Low Bed.

Harvey Diamond, Chairman and CEO of Drive Medical states, “This acquisition provides Drive with a complete portfolio of high-quality long-term care beds, and will position Drive as a major manufacturer in this rapidly-growing market.  With Drive’s broad-based product offering and the addition of the Primus long-term care beds, Drive will now be able to offer a full array of long-term care products.”

Mark Shaw, the President and Chief Operating Officer of Primus and Dan Halas, Vice President of Sales, will be joining the Drive management team.

Tony Crisitello, Drive’s Senior Vice President of Long-Term Care, will be directing the combined sales and marketing activities of Primus and Drive’s long-term care division in North America.
